Mother's Day 2015

Since we are still houseless for the moment, I jumped at the chance to house sit/ babysit for our Aunt and Uncle while they went on Vacay. 6 days in East Texas, Jones got in house playmates, I got a comfy bed and a gorgeous view!

And I got ALL these rug rats!
Our fist day was busy. Pickup from school, gymnastics, batting practice and dinner in the back of the car during all the chaos. It was fun and Jones enjoyed the change.
When I had agreed to this I didn't realize Mother's Day was during this time...... So I made me some Mother's Day cupcakes!
Took the kids to an indoor jump park.
Slip-n-slid it up!!!
Jumped jumped and more jumped.

Wore a monkey out.........

Then.......

Complete devastation to the little town of Van. I was prepared for bad weather and had the kids sleep downstairs in the living room. Soon after all the kids were asleep my phone starts blowing up. My aunt had gotten an alert on her phone about a tornado warning, my phone was going crazy telling me to take cover and Cody was in Pearsall giving me weather updates too. I woke the kids and put them under the stairs in a closet. Annabelle never woke up. I just scooped her up and layed her back down in the closet. Nannie and dado came over to. I felt safe under the stairs. I was texting Cody's family in town and my MIL tells me they are hunkered down in the bathroom and something was definitely going on at their house...... Several minutes later wind, rain, hail all came full force. After it was over I texted my MIL and their house had damage and 3 huge 50-100 year old trees were down and 1 was on their house. Luckily they didn't take a direct hit and most of their damage was from debri and 100 mile an hour winds. Their neighborhood was not so lucky.......

Round two was supposed to hit within 30 minutes.......with another tornado possible. Luckily it skipped Van and hit the next community to its northwest. After round 2, no one in town had cell service...... Cody was freaking out cause he was in Pearsall and I was freaking out cause I couldn't get ahold of Kim or Jed. All I knew was the stuff on fb that I was reading and it wasn't good.....

Hers the tornado path. Me and the kids were at the top of the M where it says 9 miles...........

Nannie and Daddo celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary while I was down!

Cody was able to come down too to help with the cleanup. Van looks like a war zone and seeing everything in Van last week makes me think of Woodward and that tornado that hit while we were there. My hearts breaks thinking about it.

South Texas Heat.....

I thought east Texas heat/humidity was bad but good lawd south Texas is horrid. It's hard to breathe some days it's so muggy. We've tried to stay cool. This is the only pool I could find......

We have had crazy amounts of rain and lots of flooding. Five T-ball games have been cancelled so far because of rain... And school was cancelled one day from flooding.
We got season passes to sea world!!!!!! We are only 45 minutes away and Jones and I will be setting up shop there this summer!
Cody was able to go with us one day!
Jones had a blast!
We all had a blast!
We only went to one show and it was pretty magical. I cried....... I really really really want to swim with dolphins one day.
We've been staying busy with the deer too. Babies should be dropping before to long!

Bring it summer!

Rodeo Fun and Baseball

Jones is loving T-ball! He can't wait for practice days and runs around the house in inform All.day.long!
The first two games have been canceled due to bad weather. We had team pictures yesterday!
We met DooDee in Carrizo Springs for a rodeo. Jones got to see some bull riding action!
And he devoured 2 gigantic pickles!

I always try to get him to try one when we go to the movies but he always says he don't like pickles...... Crazy kiddo!!!!

ACM Awards 2015

Last April, after 3 hours and 100 redials later, we were lucky enough to get tickets to the ACM awards! When we got the tickets it just seemed so far off, but the weekend finally came and gone! We had a fun filled weekend. We got VIP floor tickets and were really close to stage. The downside was standing for 3 days........ We had tickets to the all day festivities Friday and Saturday at rangers stadium. Both nights severe storms came through which halted the show 3 hours........ Since we had floor tickets they ushered us underground in rangers stadium. So we found a seat on the floor and got comfy. Both nights were supposed to start at 7 and both nights started about 10. Since there was a 3 hour delay each performer only came out and sang one song. It was being recorded to be televised at a later date so all the redo's were annoying. The producer kept coming out saying " not enough energy" so they would redo the song...........
Which made for long nights.......
Since there was a lot of waiting around for storms to pass we got to people watch......a lot. We stared at a group of girls for 10 minutes one night while they tried to get the perfect duck lip selfie. So we showed them how to do it on try nĂºmero uno!!!! We nailed it, lol.
A few of the performers stuff got ruined from the rain. Which worked out great for us. We got to see a few acoustic sets. Miranda and Patti Lovelace put on a great acoustic set!
The 2 day festival leading up to the awards show was fun fun fun!

On the way to the awards show Bri wasn't so sure about all this country music!

It was a mad house!

We had floor tickets to the awards too but it was hard to see over everyone standing. I ventured over to the first level and found some open seats that we claimed! Luckily we didn't get kicked out of them.

We had a fun weekend. Jones had fun at Papa and Grammy's and as soon as we got home Jones striped down to his undies and sprawled out on the couch!

Then we celebrated my birthday! The BIG 33..........
