Dirt

Every once in awhile I post song lyrics. The ones I post have a special meaning either to me, Cody or just songs I like. Songs I want Jones to listen to when he grows up. So that maybe one day when we are long gone these songs can bring a smile to his face.

I hate Florida Georgia Line with a passion. They are not country. They have ruined country with their music. Luckily, they have redeemed themselves with their new song. The song alone is a step up for them but the video makes it way better.

You get your hands in it

Plant your roots in it

Dusty head lights dance with your boots in it (dirt)

You write her name on it

Spin your tires on it

Build your corn field, whiskey

Bonfires on it (dirt)

You bet your life on it

Its that elm shade

Red roads clay you grew up on

That plowed up ground That your dad

Damned his luck on That post game party field

You circled up on

And when it rains You get stuck on

Drift a cloud back Behind county roads

That you run up

The mud on her jeans that she peeled off

And hung up

Her blue eyed Summer time smile

Looks so good that it hurts

Makes you wanna build

A 10 percent down

White picket fence house on this dirt

You've mixed some sweat with it

Taken a shovel to it

You've stuck some crosses and some painted

Goal posts through it (dirt)

You came from it,

And some day you'll return to

Its that elm shade

Red roads clay you grew up on

That plowed up ground that your dad

Damned his luck on that post game party field

You circled up on

And when it rains you get stuck on

Drift a cloud back Behind county roads

That you run up

The mud on her jeans that she peeled off

And hung up

Her blue eyed summer time smile

Looks so good that it hurts

Makes you wanna build

A 10 percent down

White picket fence house on this dirt

Makes you wanna build

A 10 percent down

White picket fence house on this dirt

You came from it,

And some day you'll return to it

Prek-3

Jones has had a busy week. We got ready for Jones' first year of school and he moved up to his big boy car seat.....a couple months early :/. He loves his new seat and is even more indepdent than he already was.

For Jones first day of school breakfast he requested pancakes, strawberries and chocolate milk.
He has been looking forward to school for at least 6 months now. He was so excited this morning to hit the road. He's usually all about taking some pictures but he wanted to load up and go!!
We got to school a few minutes early so we took a few selfies and we went over our manners:)
When we got out of the car, he led the way. He walked straight to his room, I can't believe he remembered where it was after only seeing it once at meet the teacher. He ran straight into the room, thru his hands up in the air and yelled, "Mrs. Mary, I here!!!!.......bye MOM!" I showed him where to put his backpack, said my goodbyes, got a few kisses and left. No tears shed!!!
When I got home I was looking forward to my first kid free morning!
Cody asked me to mow the yard.......
I did.
It was hot and yucky!
Cody went with me for pick up and I snapped this picture before they were released. He had such a fun day!
We asked him where he wanted to go for lunch on his special day. He,of course, picked Mexican food and made out with a whole bowl of queso!!

He didn't say much about school except he wanted to go back tomorrow! Excited for his new adventures and excited for all the new stuff he will learn this year!
