Busy Busy Busy

Once upon a time, there was a worker on a ranch.  He broke everything there was to break that made his life easier.  After he broke everything on the ranch, he didn't want to have to do it the hard way for a while, while everything was getting fixed.  So he decided to quit......with no warning.........and leave his house disgusting.  This pretty much sums up our month of June!

Cody had been working like a crazy man this last month.  He has even put me and Jones to work.  In the morning, not all morning, he will load Jones up in the work truck and go feed and water the elk while I stay and feed and water the deer.  This usually saves Cody a couple of hours to do other things that need to be done.  Jones LOVES it because he LOVES going with Daddy!

We haven't even started looking for a replacement.  We have to get their house cleaned first.....it is a nightmare!  A sad scary nightmare.....I refuse to go over there and clean it.....it's that bad......

I love love love this place and enjoy helping Cody out, but this is not my baby....it's Cody's.  I needed a huge fat break from this place the other day and luckily our girls game night fell on the perfect night.  I was able to get away for a few hours but my boys had to still work.  Cody had to spray the deer pens and just took Jones with him.  Jones LOVES tractors!  Cody needed a huge fat break to and went to play golf one afternoon!

Jones has been helping us feed baby deer and washing their bottles:)  and feeding the dogs:)

Checking deer with daddy..............
Jones also got his first shiner and his first goose egg on his forehead this week too.......... He was So proud of his shiner.....he didn't care for the goose egg though.......
One of the bigger things that Luis broke before he left was the feed trailer something.....:)  The thing that makes the feed come out of a huge trailer thing......:)  So we had to go fill about 10 one ton feeders by hand......NOT FUN!  We have been going to make it easier on Cody.  It has been HOT HOT HOT too!  We bring a huge bucket of water for Jones to splash in while Cody totes about 45 fifty pounds sacks of feed up a ladder to the top of the feeder and then throws me the sac to do away with.........
Jones has been getting in a lot of driving time.  He should be getting his license in the next week or so........
We are also bottle feeding 6 babies, 2 of which have still not calmed down.  They are crazy! and Cody being Tarzan and doing it all.  I love my Tarzan!

Jones Vacay......

Jones made his first trip to Texas by himself.  I went to Kids Kamp with our little ones from church and was going to be gone for 3 nights and 4 days.  Cody had a lot of stuff to do at the ranch and wouldn't be able to keep up with Jones so we sent him to Grands! We met Papa J and Grammy in Paul's Valley and made the drop off:)  He was so excited when we moved his car seat to their car.  He didn't even care we left him.....:(

He had SO much fun in Texas!

He was able to go personally check on his cow Star.  She is about to have a baby!
Gram Gram sure did feed me good!  She made me french toast, fresh veggies, fresh fruit and was a cooking machine while I was down.

I love tractors!  I was a busy bee at DooDee's and Nawna's.  We visited everybody!

I got to see my Hannah!

I went to bed good, took naps good, ate good, played good and came back home spoiled rotten!

We were SO excited to have him back home!  It literally hurt not seeing him everyday.........
I had such a great time at Kids Kamp and so glad I went!

Vacation Bible School

I have decided to step out of my comfort zone this year!
I have never participated in VBS before.  I have always either been in school or had a job.  This year, being a stay at home mom, I was able to help!  I was in charge of the 3 year old room.  I had the sweetest most adorable kids and they kept me on my toes all week!

I was So nervous at first.  A week before VBS started a friend of mine asked me to teach her 3 year old Sunday School class.  I can't believe I said yes!  I had never done that before either.  But for some reason she trusted me with her kids.  It went great, it was a lot of fun and it prepped me for VBS and took away all my fears!

Our theme for VBS was Aviation Wonders.

Our VBS was from 9-12.  The 1 and 2 year olds were in a room together and across the hall from us.  We would have a little lesson/story, craft, snack and then they would play for a bit before they were ready for a change up.  We would go on a "field trip" around the church, checking the older kids out, go to music, raid the candy room etc and we would bring the 1 and 2 year olds with us.  Jones and Crosby were the only 1 year olds and I brought J's wagon for them.  Jones was excited his buddy Crosby was riding with him.  The 2 year old's would hold onto a rope and follow me.

I had all boys and one little girl.  They were a joy to teach.  Cody made us a "waterfall" out of PVC pipe and they loved it.  The first day we had this as a craft and every day after they wanted to redo it.  I gave them each a cup and carried out a huge jug of water and they would play with that thing for 30 minutes!

I'm so glad I have stepped out of my comfort zone this summer!  Off to kids kamp next week as a counselor and Jones will be going to Texas.  Happy and sad all in one............
