Happy Birthy to Me!

My boys sure know how to treat a lady!

I had a weekend full of fun.  Cody had a basketball game one night. We went to that and came home and hung out.  Jones is so funny.  We live off the main hwy about 2 miles.  This 2 mile stretch of road is a dirt road and we never pass anyone on it. Ever since Jones was little we would get him out of his car seat and let him sit in the middle of "hit seat" and he would tell us which way to go to get to our house.  Now he will remind us to unlatch him after we "turn" so he can give us direction to get home.

I woke up to the most perfect pancakes! Blueberry pancakes made with love from my boys!  It was a good wake up that morning.

We decided to venture out to our first movie with Jones.  The Crood's were showing and I figured he would sit through at least half of it.  We walked in and he just kept saying, "wow,"  We got him his own snack pack that came with popcorn, candy, and a soda.  We have never given him a soda.  He steals drinks here and there from Cody but he usually only wants water or milk..which is great!  I ordered him a Dr.pepper and he was sooo excited.  We made our way in the theater and he was still in awe.  Then the preview began and it was SO loud.  He kept saying turn the movie off.  We kept his mind off of it with the skittles and the dr. pepper!  Finally the movie started and it was a constant loudness so we was good to go from there.  He sat through the WHOLE movie.  He got antsy the last 10 minutes of it and that was it.

Now every time I ask what he wants to do he says, "go to the movies and get a dr. pepper!" ha!

After church on Sunday we took a nap then ventured out to boiling springs state park. We found a long hiking trail and took off.  We hiked for a couple of hours. Found a stream, found a couple of bridges, found lots of sticks and dirt and walked out little hearts out and then headed to church to work in the nursery and played with our friends.  While we were at church a friend of mine was complaining about her child's bike and how he was too big for it and she asked if Jones wanted it....um,,,YEAH!  Jones loves it.  He is too small right now to get the leg action down but he has fun sitting on it for now and honking the horn!
I had a fabulous birthday weekend with my boys!

Trucks Blowing up and Texas!

A few weeks ago Cody was driving along in the ranch truck and the drive shaft? came loose and pretty much destroyed everything underneath the truck.  He was going about 70 and the force just through it up into the truck.  There was stuff everywhere on the road.  Huge chunks of metal.  It was scary scary.  Jones was supposed to be with him but luckily we had a change of plans at the last minute that involved a flat tire:)

Since his truck will be out of commission for a while and in the shop getting fixed for 3-4 months, Cody needed a back up truck.  So off to Texas we went to our "sister ranch" and picked up another!  The ranch in Texas is close to our families so we made a pit stop....a quick pit stop.  Jones was tired and not feeling well this trip.

We got to enjoy the beautiful spring weather!  It was still pretty chilly here in OK!

We saw Nawna and Doodee.  Played some basketball and ate some crawfish!

We had a day with Grammy and Papa Jones too.  We went on a hike.  It was soo nice to get out and walk and explore. Jones loved it!

Fed some fish with Grammy!

Fed the cows.

Enjoyed the green grass.  I just wanted to lay in it!

Papa showed us the creek that he had dammed and up and it was full of water!

"Wait for me guys!"

Life lessons from Papa Jones.

That night he didn't NOT want to sleep in his bed.  I was exhausted and didn't want to deal with it so he slept with me.  I got lots of cuddles and no sleep.  He slept like a baby and ready for our trek back to OK.

We made a pit stop at MiMi's house and stayed the night in Wylie. Aunt K and Aunt T and Greg came over and played played played.  It was fun seeing everyone and it was a nice break from the ranch but we were glad to get back!

Basketball and Parks

Every year Cody plays basketball.  In January church league starts and right after that city league starts.  He loves it!  We love to watch him!

Jones has fun warming up with Cody and running wild with the other kiddos!

We ventured over to the park after a game one night.  Fed the ducks and threw rocks.

Jones was SOOO good that day we ended up at Dairy Queen for a treat...or two...
Jones ended up eating his and mine....

Since weather has warmed up a bit we have been going to a park every other day.  Jones loves it!  and its nice to get out of the house!

Since he has had weird naps lately this wears him out and he usually falls asleep on the way home.  I left him in his car seat the other day for him to nap and I washed my car by hand....he never woke up!  I straightened up the yard one day while he finished his nap in the car:)  This gives him about an hour nap, not too long where he won't go to bed at night and not too short wear he is a monster come 5 O' Clock!  Win/Win!!!!!

Off Season

Jones has had an off season this Spring. The weather has been off too.  We are working on our second ice storm right now.......
Jones came out of the womb knowing what was day time and what was night time.  He has never had a problem sleeping or staying in his bed or naps or bedtime.  About a month ago he decided he didn't want in his bed but he wanted "mommies bed!"  Ummmm, no child.  We have never let him sleep with us. I love my sleep too much to ruin that.  I thought maybe he was done with naps during the day and if we stopped the naps he would go down at night better.....wrong.....It worked for about a day and a half......  He would be completely done by 5 if he skipped his nap.  In bed by 6 and up at 4.......No bueno!

One night after the 10th time he came in our room before 10, I finally just sat at his door and everytime he came out I just said, "nope, back to your bed now!!!!"  He didn't like that too much.  He cried and screamed SOOOO hard.  He has NEVER done that.  It was def the hardest night yet.  It lasted about an hour and he was SO exhausted from the fit he threw that he slept till 9 the next morning.  Luckily, we haven't had another night like that.

So we are now taking late naps for about an hour.......instead of early naps for how long he wants and bed time is dreadful. He is also getting all 4 of his 2 yr old molars and he is growing like a weed, not wanting to eat and not wanting to stay in his bed all night.  He comes in our room on average 10 times a night wanting to "rock!"  Luckily,  Cody has been starting his days later and waking up when Jones does about 7 and lets me sleep till 9...marvelous I tell ya!  It's funny that Jones got ALL of his teeth my 10 months and has not had another tooth since and now he is finally getting his molars......4 at a time.....poor kid.

We have always been very strict about his bedtime routine and that's probably why he has always gone to bed so good.  It used to be bath, lubed up, book, bed and in his room with the lights dim and no play.  We have started giving him a bath early and let him play for a couple of hours before bedtime and then put him down.  So the last few nights have been back to old routine and no bad till ready for bed.  It has def been easier to put him down but still not like it used to be.......maybe if we stick to it a few more nights he will be back to his old loving bedtime days....we shall see!

Since the weather has been CRAY CRAY our allergies and our moods and our sinuses have been crazy too.  Jones has been wanting to lay on "mommies" bed during the day to "rest."  I have let him because he hasn't felt great the last few weeks.
Sweet Sweet Boy

He has had a fever a few times and he is just pitiful when he does....it's so sad!

Since the weather has been bipolar we have stayed in a lot.

Daddy has helped with the entertainment so we haven't been that bored:)

We have picniced "outside" by the window....

Daydreamed about warmer weather and going outside to play!

Helped daddy score some sheds....

Picnicked in the kitchen....a lot!

He picked out his next tractor buy and we went to the John Deer store in town and picked it up...he was SOOOO excited they had THE one he wanted.

SIT, daddy, SIT with me!

4-wheeled in the house....

Rested on my ball....

Helps me cook dinner....

and chillaxes in his undies like a real man......

I found some fun recipes on pinterest for finger paints and play doh and he has had the best time not only being creative but also helping me whip them up.

One afternoon when he didn't feel good I was in the kitchen cleaning up.  He brings his bean bag in the kitchen and sits right next to my leg watching his "mickey mouse."  I move to the living room to clean up and he follows me, I then move to the bar area to pay bills and he moves again right up under my feet.  It was adorable and sad all at once.
So we just hung out in my bed the rest of the afternoon and rested up.

Hopefully this dreadful season will move on quickly to Spring weather and more feel better days!
