Happy Father's Days Weekend

Cody, you are the BEST dad!  Jones adores you, and always wants to be around you.  You take him with you as much as you can and Jones is learning so much from you already!  So glad Jones has such an awesome daddy who loves him to the moon and back and would do anything for him!

\

We had a fun weekend. We just finished up some hunts that week so we rested much of the weekend.  Cody took a 4 hour nap with Jones on Saturday.  Cody NEVER naps but when he does he must be exhausted!

Saturday we went to the water park a couple of hours before they closed.  It was fun and not very many people were there.  It got kind of chilly after the sun started going down.  Jones was shivering so hard he couldn't stop laughing!

Sunday we went to church and came home and ate left overs.  Jones was right up under his daddy all day! Jones skipped his nap again that day so we could go help daddy feed the animals.  We hung out on the ranch all afternoon and came home and  I made shrimp cocktail and Baudoin for dinner........ewwwww

Monday Cody had to run to OKC to pick up some deer vaccinations at the capital.  We decided to make a day of it and do something fun!  We gave Jones 2 options.  Go play put-put or go to the Zoo.  I just knew he would choose put-put.  I asked him is he wanted to either play golf or go see the animals....he chose the animals!  He was in heaven.  We didn't bring a stroller and he ran...I mean RAN for 3 straight hours all over the zoo.  I figured he would have fallen out as soon as he got back to the car but he was ready for round 2 and wanted to go play golf next!  He got disappointed when he realized it was one or the other.....

He shot birds the whole trip down to the city..

The zoo was fun...and big....and hot....and lots of fun.  We have never taken him to a zoo before.  I figured since we live at a zoo he wouldn't care for it....boy was I wrong!

After he ran around for about an hour he was getting tired.  He rode on Cody's shoulders for about 20 minutes and almost fell asleep.  I guess that was enough rest because after he got down he ran round for another hour!

He loved everything about the zoo and said that was "cool" about 500,000  times!

We swung by the mall on the way out and Cody got him this basketball.  He conked out as soon as we got back in the car and slept with his new ball that night.

We had a fun fun fun weekend and I hope Cody was Happy Happy Happy!

Summer has Arrived!

Busy time has arrived too.  We have been helping Cody out a lot so he won't get burnt out so fast this summer.  We hunkered down in the lodge one night last week because a huge storm was going to roll through in the middle of the night.  The next day Cody saw a huge tree had fallen on the high fence and it needed to be fixed ASAP.  We ventured out with him to help and then we drove the whole fence line to make sure there were no other trees down on the fence.  It took almost 2 hours to make it around.  Jones was wore out......out cold!
It was hot too so I stripped him down as much as I could.  It was an adorable sight to see:)

Cody has been trying to plant food plots for the summer.  The tractor has been in the shop for a few months and we haven't had any rain.  We finally got the tractor back and Cody went to disc one afternoon.  He was going to be out late to try to get as much done as he could.  Jones and I cooked dinner and packed it up and went to go find daddy!  There was NO wind and we took advantage and had a picnic.  It was a nice change.  Jones got to help disc a bit too.

Since Cody has been working so hard we have been talking him in to playing as much as possible too.  We went to play golf one afternoon and Jones LOVES it.  He is a pro already. On the last hole we let him T off and he hit the ball all the way to the green.  It was so funny.  He didn't want to ride in the golf cart to the hole.

Since it has been so hot, we have played in the water every day!  He loves his little pool and we have ventured to the water park too.

Jones decided he wanted to drag his slide to his pool.  He thought of this on his own........

We had hunters come down last week so MiMi came to help me out.  I had to cook this time and it was a lot easier not hauling Jones back and forth, from home to lodge, 3 times a day!

We got a nice little tan so far this summer and trying to get rid of the farmer tans on everybody:)

Happy 7 Years!

I really can't believe we have been married 7 years!  We have had a great 7 and excited for the next 7!  We usually don't do much for our anniversary since it falls in the middle of fawn season, and the middle of our busy time.  We usually sneak away sometime in May before the business sets in but we didn't this year.  We will celebrate at the end of summer this year!  Cody worked most of the day, I let Jones skip his nap so he would go to bed early!  We grilled out steaks for dinner and had these babies for dessert!!!!!1

I made a few graham crackers and marshmallows for Jones.  By 6 that night Jones was DONE!  I didn't want to b\put him to bed that early, but for all of our sanity, off the bed he went!  It stormed a little about 8 and woke him up, and then he didn't want to go back to bed.........We had a stand off for about 2 hours and at 10 decided to let him just play so he would burn some energy and go back to sleep.  We put him back to bed at 12 when we went to sleep and he slept till 10 the next morning!  WINNING!

Since he was up I put him to work:)

Cody,
I am so thankful you chose me to spend your life with.  So thankful I chose you. So thankful for our life we have together and the life we are building for our future.  You make my days so much brighter, easier, funner:), more joyful and so much better than they would be without you.  So thankful we have Jones to join in on all our fun.  Thank you for being so perfect for me!

My Love, My Life and everything good.......
I love you more than you will ever know.....

Summer Fun and VBS

The water park finally opened and we are thrilled!  Jones is a little more scared this year than he was last year but he is still fearless with the slide.
Woohoo!

"Good thinking, momma!"

This year for VBS the theme was "Ccolossal Coaster" Facing Fear, Trusting God!  We had about 200 kiddos running around and I was excited I got my 3 year olds again to teach.  I only had 4 kiddos this year so Jones and his buddies would venture over and hang with us and go on our walk with us.

My friend brought her huge roller coaster and the kids loved it!

"Just hanging with my buds, mom, BYE!"
It was for sure a LONG week.  By the last day all the lil kids were ready to get out of here!  I was exhausted and slept all day on Saturday to recharge....it was awesomeness!  Looking forward to it again next year though!
