Christmas Break 2015

Jones started his Christmas break going on a train ride! Papa Jones and Grammy took him on a day trip for part of his Christmas. He is obsessed with trains and this was the perfect gift. Something he will remember forever.
That evening J got sick and came down with a fever for about 3 days.. Fevers come with lots of snuggles.
Needed a change and put some color on my hair!
Cody and I have been looking for a headboard. We decided to have one made. Dad and Vicki had this made, with cedar off the farm! It is gorgeous! There is nothing better than a sentimental gift that you can pass down to your own kids. The fact it came off my dad's land makes it even more special.
We went to santaland one night. J was still sick and running fever so this was something fun we could do without getting anybody else sick. The line was long!!!
We all had a good Christmas!
Jones got his drums!!
Jones had a blast with his 2nd cousins as usual!
The kids played outside most of the day shooting their nerd guns and bow and arrows!
This was our first Christmas in Nawna and DooDee's new house. It already feels like home. That cozy warm relaxing feeling!
It started raining After Christmas and didn't stop till Sunday night late. It flooded Van. We had never seen this much water. It was coming over the spillway deeper than we had ever seen. Nannie and Dado were stuck and couldn't drive over the spillway.
This was at the end of their county road...... We all set up camp at Kim and Jed's new house and put together a puzzle and drank coffee! The electricity went off that evening and J and I were ready to get home! Cody had to leave Saturday and we headed home Monday. My bed has never felt so good.
Jones has been playing with all his many toys while I get the house back in order. These drums are LOUD. I didn't think a small kid set of drums would be crazy loud.... They are.... Even when his door is shut, they are loud.
I'm pretty sure I got half of the pioneer woman's collection for Christmas. This isn't even half of it!
Santa brought J his gator!!!! He was excited to get home to ride on it! We have another week off before school and routine and reality. I've enjoyed this two weeks with my boy. Everyone always complains about break and how they can't wait for their kids to start back to school..... Umm, ok? I love having him home. He's been able to go feed deer with Cody, see him more and help more around the house!

2015 was good to us for sure. We settled into a new routine in a new town, new job, new friends, new school and a brand new gigantic house! I still struggle some days thinking about what should have been and Cody is still my rock. Those bad days seem to stretch out further and further from each other.
Hoping for new adventures in 2016 with both my Loves!
Bring it!

Tis the Season

We saw Santa in South Texas. Santa spoke Spanish and Jones was SO confused, ha!

Jones' school put on a Christmas program. It was adorable. They put it on for the church and awanas! Jones was great on both performances!

After a month of practice and go go go, he was exhausted. Momma was too!

I never thought I would receive this text..... They were in there good to. I DID have to tweeze those suckers out. They were in a good 2 inches.....

We all came home sick from Thanksgiving and felt blah for a few weeks. By Christmas break Jones was done. Done with school, done with awanas, done with getting dressed and done with thinking, ha. One day he said, " momma, me brain needs a break!"

Here's to two weeks of brain breaks and lots of family time! We head to East Texas tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Lil Love

Jones woke up to his doorway of balloons and breakfast in bed! I usually make him birthday pancakes but we over slept......
So it was Cheerios with chocolate chips! That kind of looks like a 5, right?
Jones had a mini party at his school and we played all day. Daddy had to Work deer and get them ready to AI.
Jones wanted pizza for dinner. I was just gonna pick one up in town, but he wanted to make them! They were yummy!

For dessert the wanted rice Krispy treats. So I improvised and melted chocolate chips on top for icing!

Where did the last 5 years go? Baby Love, you are Cody and mines greatest creation. Our favorite part of each day. You make what's supposed to be the most stressful part of our job a breeze. I like to think Cody and I are just rock stars at this parenting thing, but, you my Love, are a product of God's grace. After years of praying for you, you were molded with only the very best of me and the very best of Cody. Your such an old soul and content with whatever thrown your way. I pray your sweet soul will forever be guarded and you neve lose your sweet spirit.

Happy Birthday, Jones!!! Here's to number 5!!
