Christmas Mini Session

I came across a fantastic deal on fb that a local photographer was doing for one day!  I jump on it and thought it would be a cheap way to get some family pics done:)  Cody ended up having a last minute hunt booked so it turned into a mini session for Jones and I got one pic with him.  I think they turned out adorable!

He was a little ham.  We were her last clients for the day and she said Jones was the only one that was feeling the camera, ha!

He loved the fake snow!  He kept wanting to do it over and over and over....and she let him:)

Here is a sneak peek at his birthday pics I took.....a few days late:/

Thanksgiving in OK!

We were so excited it didn't work out for us to drive in for Thanksgiving, plus get to see family!  WIN/WIN!  Jones got horribly sick the day before my parents were to come in.  I thought it was RSV and so did the Dr but the test came back negative..............He ran 103 + temp for the first 3 days, and he sounded like he smoked a pack a day, and he was wheezing and just plain pitiful.  IT was so sad, and I had never seen him that sick before.
We ended up having a mini party for him.  He puckered up long enough to blow out the candles, make out with a piece of cake and sit on his new toy!  Then he crashed:(
He loved his new John Deer.  It has just been to cold to take it outside thought:(  It goes SOOOO fast and he is going to break something in the house soon!
He was so excited about his big boy bed, because it meant his Uncle Josh would be sleeping with him.  Since he was SO sick he stayed in our room, so we could keep an eye on him.  He kept coughing and getting choked and just throwing up:/

We had plenty of folks here to love on our boy and to try to make him feel just a little bit better......
After 13 days of blahness, he is back to his regular self!

Early Christmas at the Campbell's

I have NEVER and I mean NEVER I have I EVER put up a Christmas tree in November.  Before kiddo I think I only put a tree up once.  That was only because I was watching a couple of kiddos at the time and thought they would enjoy it.  Well I am all about the tree now.  I just couldn't wait any longer, so me and Jones put them up a week before Thanksgiving.  Yes, I said them!  I have one in Jones' room and one in the living room.  I loved them both so much and was a little jealous that I had to go get one for mine and Cody's room! Jones loves them as much as I do!

Since I have put the lights up early, every day seems like Christmas.  It's a warm, ooey, gooey feeling in our house right now and I am in Christmas Heaven!

We also decided to change Jones' bed into his big boy bed and do away with his toddler bed, well, transform his toddler bed into a big boy bed.  It was a pain in the "you know what."  We will have Cody's parents down, brother and girlfriend and my dad and step mom down for Thanksgiving so now we will have an extra bed!
I do not want to relive that day.  Cody was annoyed beyond belief for the rest of the day after messing with that bed and we stayed clear of him:)  Jones loves it!

It has been super super cold here lately too.  I am loving the fire place this year.  We have lived here for almost 5 years and last year was the first year we used the fire place, and we only used it because we got 3 ft of snow, it was 5 degrees and we had no electricity for 2 days!  It was so clean and I didn't want to get it dirty, but after having to use it............I say use away!!!!!!!!

Play Day

We try to have a fun day with Jones once a month.  This month we had to run to OKC one day to pick up some more tags, for the ranch, at the wildlife department so we decided to stay and make a day of it.  We went and had sushi for lunch.. It was SOOOOO good.  Jones was chowing down on some rice too.

We  went to celebration station and played putt-putt and rode the go-karts.  Whats funny is Jones beat us both at putt-putt......

Jones had a fun day, Cody had a break from the ranch, and I got to get away from the day to day hustle and bustle of life.  SCORE!

Uncle Josh so happened to be playing with his band in the city, so we made a pit stop to say hi!!!!

Jones' First Real Hunt!

We had a bunch of hunts lined up and Jones was so bummed he couldn't be a part of it this time so  Cody had promised Jones he would take him hunting after things slowed down and this was the perfect night to go!  Jones was beyond thrilled.  Cody gave him his BB gun and gave him the low down on gun safety and made him hold his BB gun like you would a powerful gun.  Cody kept sending me videos and pics all night and it brought a tear to my eye.........He is just so big.

Cody said he did GREAT!!!!

But he did get bored fast.........:)

Arggggg Mate'!!

This year for Halloween Jones wanted to be a pirate.  I had found a cute pirate costume at Crazy8 a few months back and picked it up.  I then found a Jake costume at target a few weeks before Halloween and almost bought it too.  Glad I didn't!  There were so many Jake's!  Jones stuck out with his pirate costume!  He got lots of compliments!

He wasn't much interested in the candy...well not as much as I thought he would at least.  He enjoyed walking downtown though and enjoyed doing Trunk or Treat at the church.

They had face painting, they had hot dogs and lots and lots of candy!  Cody even participated and put on a pirate hat!  We had a fun night!

Busier Days and Relaxing Nights!

I have been loving this time change!  Although our days seem busier trying to squeeze in everything, our nights are longer, which means more down time and more time with both of my boys in the house!  I helped some girlfriends host a baby shower and I was able to bring home a bunch of loot.  Jones has had a mustache every day for a month!  He loves them!

We have had several hunts booked lately where I haven't had to cook.  This has left a bunch of free time with Jones.  Jones gets bummed when we aren't at the lodge all day with the hunters so I have had to keep that lil brain occupied all day long!  We had a fall festival/expo thingy in town one weekend.  We ventured out one day and he was able to ride a pony, jump through bounce houses, eat foot long corn dogs, and repeat about 5 times.  He was beyond tired when we were done!  Now he wants a pony!

We ventured over to Enid one day which is about an hour and a half away.  They have this huge children's science museum with everything imaginable in it.  They even had an old airplane cockpit where you could sit in it and push all 2.5 million buttons......he was in love!!!!

They also had a huge outside area with this huge castle.  We were there for about 4 hours and he did not want to leave.....I, on the other hand was exhausted.  There was probably only about 8 or 9 other kids there at the time.  I over heard someone say on field trip days there are about 2,000 kiddos there..........ugh, no thank you!!!!!

We have had to find more things to do by ourselves too.  Usually if we get bored we will just load up with Cody and go help him do whatever.....well he has been entertaining hunters so I have had to entertain this guy by myself.  He played with this life size cooler one day for 2 hours........and eventually took a nap in it:)

We are getting ready for a big hunt in a few weeks.  About 12 guys, for a week, and I get to cook for them!  Jones will be thrilled we will be at the lodge more all up in the action!

Quartz Mountain Resort

Our Sunday School class had an opportunity to attend a Couples Retreat that another church was hosting.  It was in Altus, OK and it was beautiful!!!!!!!  We had such a great weekend away. They had fabulous speakers and we had lots of time to spend together without distractions. We missed our lil nugget but definitely needed that weekend away.

We got to spend all day hiking trails and mini mountains!

The scenery was straight up breathtaking!

While we were gone, Nawna and DooDee came to stay with Jones and feed animals for Cody.  Jones showed Doodee exactly what needed to be done!  He was a good lil host!
When we got back in town Jones was exhausted.  He fell asleep at dinner.......He has NEVER done this!  He has never fallen asleep in random spots....he can only fall asleep in his bed or car seat but passed smooth out at dinner....so cute!

When we got back from our weekend away we had a lot of stuff to do.  We loaded up with Cody and helped him fill protein feeders and corn feeders to get ready for hunters.

We had to put out all the pop up blinds and a few bow stands.  Jones loved climbing this thing and I was a nervous wreck..........He climbed it like a champ the first time and I finally chilled out:)

Jones and BFF's and Girlfriends

We were in Texas on Crosby's birthday so when we got back to Oklahoma we took him out for lunch.  He wanted to go to McDonald.  I don't usually do McDonald's but how could I say no to this sweet lil boy.  I still have the mental image of the picture that floated around facebook a few years back of all the fast food burger/fries that had been sitting out in the open for about 5 years and they looked exactly the same.  Yucko!  Well I survived and they both had a fabulous time.

We got home Jones took a walk with me and stole by Ipod...............

Jones started Puggles this year.  It is usually for 3 year olds but all his buddies turned 3 on or before August and well.......if he didn't start this year he would have been the lone ranger in his class.  He is keeping up with the older kids....I'm so proud!!!

We ran to OKC with a friend one afternoon to pick up a present.  He loves loves loves Madeline.
We found a drive in theater and tried it out.....Jones was more interested in playing and running around and the only thing that made him sit still was the popcorn.......
Jones finally got his puggle's backpack "packpack"
Best buddy Crosby!
Girlfriend Madeline!

Fall Has Arrived!

And so begins our busy season and shorter days!
Cody has been getting ready for hunts, planting food plots, mowing and getting the ranch ready for winter!  We have been helping and playing:)

Jones found a new seat in the truck......

We also had to tranq some of our breeder bucks and move them out in the sanctuary.  Jones loves this part.  He gets to be up close and personal with a deer and he loves helping his daddy score "big daddy bucks!"
We had our first group of hunters and Jones loved them.  Luckily they enjoyed him too and let him photo bomb there pics!

We got rain at just the right time this year.  The winter food plots are looking good.

We had our neighbors bale the back of the ranch and we helped haul the hay.  I had to drive the truck and Cody loaded the hay on the trailer.  Jones opened the back window and climbed out and sat on the tool box.  He was such a big boy....it took everything in me to chill out and let him!
I have been getting lots and lots of foot rubs:)  I love this time because Cody gets to hunt any time he wants and makes up for it in foot rubs!

HAPPY FALL YA'LL!
