Off Season

Jones has had an off season this Spring. The weather has been off too.  We are working on our second ice storm right now.......
Jones came out of the womb knowing what was day time and what was night time.  He has never had a problem sleeping or staying in his bed or naps or bedtime.  About a month ago he decided he didn't want in his bed but he wanted "mommies bed!"  Ummmm, no child.  We have never let him sleep with us. I love my sleep too much to ruin that.  I thought maybe he was done with naps during the day and if we stopped the naps he would go down at night better.....wrong.....It worked for about a day and a half......  He would be completely done by 5 if he skipped his nap.  In bed by 6 and up at 4.......No bueno!

One night after the 10th time he came in our room before 10, I finally just sat at his door and everytime he came out I just said, "nope, back to your bed now!!!!"  He didn't like that too much.  He cried and screamed SOOOO hard.  He has NEVER done that.  It was def the hardest night yet.  It lasted about an hour and he was SO exhausted from the fit he threw that he slept till 9 the next morning.  Luckily, we haven't had another night like that.

So we are now taking late naps for about an hour.......instead of early naps for how long he wants and bed time is dreadful. He is also getting all 4 of his 2 yr old molars and he is growing like a weed, not wanting to eat and not wanting to stay in his bed all night.  He comes in our room on average 10 times a night wanting to "rock!"  Luckily,  Cody has been starting his days later and waking up when Jones does about 7 and lets me sleep till 9...marvelous I tell ya!  It's funny that Jones got ALL of his teeth my 10 months and has not had another tooth since and now he is finally getting his molars......4 at a time.....poor kid.

We have always been very strict about his bedtime routine and that's probably why he has always gone to bed so good.  It used to be bath, lubed up, book, bed and in his room with the lights dim and no play.  We have started giving him a bath early and let him play for a couple of hours before bedtime and then put him down.  So the last few nights have been back to old routine and no bad till ready for bed.  It has def been easier to put him down but still not like it used to be.......maybe if we stick to it a few more nights he will be back to his old loving bedtime days....we shall see!

Since the weather has been CRAY CRAY our allergies and our moods and our sinuses have been crazy too.  Jones has been wanting to lay on "mommies" bed during the day to "rest."  I have let him because he hasn't felt great the last few weeks.
Sweet Sweet Boy

He has had a fever a few times and he is just pitiful when he does....it's so sad!

Since the weather has been bipolar we have stayed in a lot.

Daddy has helped with the entertainment so we haven't been that bored:)

We have picniced "outside" by the window....

Daydreamed about warmer weather and going outside to play!

Helped daddy score some sheds....

Picnicked in the kitchen....a lot!

He picked out his next tractor buy and we went to the John Deer store in town and picked it up...he was SOOOO excited they had THE one he wanted.

SIT, daddy, SIT with me!

4-wheeled in the house....

Rested on my ball....

Helps me cook dinner....

and chillaxes in his undies like a real man......

I found some fun recipes on pinterest for finger paints and play doh and he has had the best time not only being creative but also helping me whip them up.

One afternoon when he didn't feel good I was in the kitchen cleaning up.  He brings his bean bag in the kitchen and sits right next to my leg watching his "mickey mouse."  I move to the living room to clean up and he follows me, I then move to the bar area to pay bills and he moves again right up under my feet.  It was adorable and sad all at once.
So we just hung out in my bed the rest of the afternoon and rested up.

Hopefully this dreadful season will move on quickly to Spring weather and more feel better days!
