T-Ball Baby

T ball has officially begun! He picked # 11 this year. He said he wants to be a different number every year. The thought of the same number didn't sit well with him. He'll understand the same # every year thing in a few years!

He sure does look handsome though.

They go all out for t ball. We had a parade and opening ceremonies!

Half of Jones' class is on our team and the other half are on another team. We had to get a pic of them all. They were so cute!

State Basketball 2016

State basketball was in San Antonio again this year. I think this city is way more fun than Austin and way less crowded for this event. Cody wasn't able to join us this year. He had a deer auction he had to attend. Cody dropped J off in East Texas on his way to his deer auction, so I had a weekend away with the girls while the boys went to games.

We had lunch in in the Tower of Americas. It was so good! And the view wasn't so shabby.

Went and got our toes did.

We had spring break the week after state basketball and was lazy lazy.

 

We slept late and helped Cody in the afternoon.

Found this big guy. Cody almost stepped on him..... We are getting ready for turkey hunts too. We are booked up already, so getting Cody time in before he gets busy again!

End of Basketball

Look at that concentration! Jones had 5 games of his first ever basketball career. After game 3 he came down with the crud half of America had. He wasn't feeling 100% the last 2 games and didn't hustle as much as he did the first 2 games, but he had a fun time and was sad to see it end.

He was number 8.

 He was so excited about his metal!  I think I like them better than trophies!  And we were so proud of him.  He got best defensive player!

Field Trips and School, Oh my.

I've been doing a little subbing at J's school and I have loved it. 2 weeks ago they asked me to do a little long term subbing till the end of the year. They needed someone to fill in for a few hours in the afternoon.  I have been teaching 7-8 History and 5-6 Science.  I have enjoyed teaching more than I thought I would.  A lot more than I thought I would.  Since J only goes in the morning and I work in the afternoons, they let him go to Kindergarten for the rest of the day and HE LOVES IT!

I subbed the other day in his class and they had a field trip.  We got to see a camel! and hear about the old days with America was being settled.  It was interesting for the kiddos and the guy did an awesome job describing things on a 5 year old level.

Cody had a deer breeder's event in SA the Valentine's weekend, so I decided to go with him and chillax.  We left J at home with the grands and had a good weekend away.

It seems like the only time away is when Cody has a deer event.  I will take it any way I can get it right now!  We found an awesome hotel.  We had our very own terrace with this comfy white bed.  I laid there ALL DAY LONG!

We hurried home on Sunday to see our little Valentine and to finish out the day with him!

 We made a homemade strawberry cake with homemade strawberry icing and it was yummy yummy!  We had a fun filled day of love!
